The Frogs and the Boys

Once upon a time, there lived a group of frogs  in a small pond near a village. The pond was full of fresh water and green plants. The frogs were very happy there. Every day they jumped, played, and sang merrily. They lived together like a big family and enjoyed their peaceful life.

One sunny afternoon, a few village boys came near the pond to play. When they saw the frogs jumping in the water, they thought it would be fun to throw stones at them. The boys started picking up small stones and throwing them into the pond. The stones splashed the water loudly, and some of the frogs got hurt.

The poor frogs were frightened and tried to hide under the water and among the leaves. But one brave frog came up to the surface. With tears in his eyes, he said to the boys, “Dear boys, please stop throwing stones at us! You may think it is only a game, but it is death to us. Your fun is causing us pain.”

When the boys heard this, they felt very sorry for what they had done. They realized that their playful act was hurting the poor frogs. They immediately stopped throwing stones and went away, promising never to harm animals again.

From that day onwards, the boys became kind and careful towards all living creatures. The frogs were happy again and lived peacefully in their pond.

Moral:

What is play to one may be death to another.

We should never hurt others for our amusement.
