Sub: Why plastic carry bags should be banned. /Urgent Need for Plastic Carry Bag Ban

Respected Sir,

I shall be highly obliged if you kindly allow me a little space in the columns of your esteemed daily to express my views related to the dangers of plastic carry bags.

I am writing to highlight the pressing issue of plastic carry bags wreaking havoc on our environment. The widespread use of these bags is causing severe problems, from clogging sewerage systems to waterlogged roads.  Embracing eco-friendly alternatives like jute and paper bags will not only reduce pollution but also promote sustainable practices. We have forgotten earthen pots, paper bags, jute bags etc. A number of plastic bags are floating here and there . Overflowing drains exacerbate the situation, polluting both land and oceans. The large-scale use of these bags is taking a toll on our environment, leading to choked sewerage systems, waterlogged roads, and overflowing drains. This not only disrupts daily life but also poses a serious threat to our ecosystems. To combat this, we must embrace a ban on plastic carry bags and encourage the use of eco-friendly alternatives such as jute and paper bags It's time to prioritize the health of our environment over convenience.

Under the above circumstances I therefore, request you to write the leading article on the topic so that government or concerned authority should take appropriate steps as early as possible.
