Kolkata ,December 5 ,2023: A devastating fire broke out on the top floor of the Eastern Railway's New Kolaghat building, Kolkata. It occurred on Monday evening on 4.12.2023.9 people died in fire fighting.According to local police sources, the incident took place due to short circuit . Local people rushed to the spot and informed the fire brigade. Local police also came to the spot. Besides the fire brigade, members of the disaster response force came and started rescue operation.5 fire engines took eight hours to put out the fire.CM and Fire Minister rushed to the spot. They expressed grief.As a gesture of support, a grant of Rs. 10 lakh was announced for the families of the deceased. The injured were promptly hospitalized.
