Most people think that the cat is an unintelligent animal, fond of ease and care little for anything but mice and milk. But a cat has really more character than most human beings and gets a great deal more satisfaction out of life.
He or She is an athlete, an acrobat and a grim fighter. All day long the cat loafs about the house, takes things easy and allows himself to be pestered by the attentions of the people in the house. To pass the time away he sometimes watches a mouse-hole for an hour or two- just to keep himself free from boredom. People get this idea that this sort of thing is all that holds life for a cat. According to a group of scientists, Sundarbans the world's biggest mangrove forest and the iconic Bengal tiger's habitat can be destroyed due to climate change and rising sea levels over the next 50 years. Spanning more then 10000 sq.km, the Sundarbans region is the most critical area for the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger, researchers say. Bill Laurance, a professor at the James Cook University in Australia said, "Less than 4000 Bengal tigers are alive today and this is a really low number for the world's biggest cat, which used to be far more abundant but today is mainly confined to small areas of India and Bangladesh." Sharif Mukul, an assistant professor at Independent University in Bangladesh said, "What is more terrifying is that our analyses suggest tiger habitats in the Sundarbans will vanish entirely by 2027."
