The Frog's Plea
One bright afternoon, a group of mischievous boys was playing near a pond. They noticed a large number of frogs hopping and swimming in the water. For fun, they began throwing stones at the frogs. At first, they laughed heartily as the stones hit their targets. But soon, their actions took a darker turn. Some frogs were struck by the stones and died instantly, while others were left severely injured, struggling to move.
Amid the chaos, an old frog managed to climb onto a rock and faced the boys. With a trembling voice, he cried out, "Why are you throwing stones at us? What harm have we done to you? Please stop your cruel activities and save us!"
The boys were taken aback by the frog’s words. For the first time, they realized the pain and suffering they had caused. Their laughter ceased, replaced by a deep sense of guilt and regret. They threw away the remaining stones, apologized to the old frog, and promised never to harm innocent creatures again.
From that day on, the boys became protectors of the pond, ensuring no one disturbed the frogs or other creatures that called it home.
Moral: Cruelty to innocent beings is inhumane; compassion is the true mark of strength.
