Section – C: Transformation of Sentences (5 marks)
(i) Degree Change (Positive, Comparative, Superlative)
1. No other girl in the class is as intelligent as Rina. (Change into Comparative and Superlative Degree)
(ii) Simple to Complex and Complex to Simple
1. Seeing the policeman, the thief ran away. (Simple to Complex)
2. It is certain that he will succeed. (Complex to Simple)
(iii) Verb to Noun and Noun to Verb Conversion
1. He tried to solve the problem. (Change 'tried' into noun form)
2. His movement was very quick. (Change 'movement' into verb form)
Section – D: Special Grammatical Constructions (4 marks)
(i) Remove "too...to"
1. The tea was too hot to drink. (Rewrite by removing 'too...to')
(ii) Use "No sooner...than"
2. As soon as the train arrived, the passengers rushed in. (Use 'No sooner...than')
(iii) Use "Neither...nor"
3. She does not sing. She does not dance. (Use 'Neither...nor')
(iv) Use "Either...or"
4. You can come with us. You can stay at home. (Use 'Either...or')
